Price Increases
We have made no general increase in prices since taking over the Exactoscale business following Bernard Weller's death in 2004. In the intervening six years, there have been substantial increases in the production cost of many of our products. For plastic mouldings, material costs have increased significantly and higher small order charges are being applied. Following the retirement of the Swiss supplier found and used extensively by Bernard Weller, many of our machined components have had to be sourced from new suppliers and we have found it difficult to match previous prices.
We have therefore adjusted prices to reflect both higher costs and the increase in the VAT rate to 20%. The revised prices apply from 4th January 2011.
With our most recently introduced products (locomotive wheels and special chairs for P & C), we are absorbing the VAT increase and holding our prices.
With increases in postal charges, our post and packing charges have become increasingly inadequate. The main prooblem has been rail, and we are now treating this separately (and posting it separately) - buying rail at exhibitions will give significant savings. We have also increased the UK charge for other items. Please see the order forms in the Ordering section for details.
