Driving Wheel Designs

As outlined in Product News, we have now reached the stage in our driving wheel programme where we are preparing to produce a number of different wheel designs. This page will provide a preview of the wheels and seek comments on any aspects of the designs that appear incorrect. Bogie and tender wheels will be added before long.

We have only very limited information on certain of the driving wheels we hope to produce initially. The particular wheels we need more information on are:
LNER 5' 8" 18 spoke, 13 in throw crankpin, outside cylinder wheel
LNER 5' 8" 18 spoke, N1 and N2 wheel
LNER 5' 2" 16 spoke, J39 wheel
LNER 4' 8" 14 spoke wheel

In due course, assuming the initial eleven types prove successful, we will ask for vews on possible future additions to the range. For the moment though, we are concentrating on the programme we have announced.
